I made this film especially for the Short Stack Film Festival (in Sydney, Australia) where you had to create a short film based off an item from the New South Wales State Library inventory. I chose to create a story based on the painting ‘Collection Day’ by John Bokor. My intention was to try and express the inner thoughts of a struggling artist. I deliberately strived for the film to be quirky and light-hearted. But most of all I wanted the audience to realise that you should never give up on your dreams and that sometimes our inner critic can be our worst enemy.
